This map contains almost nothing of our own. It is made, end to end, of gifts other people made first. Here are the people who made it.
Every camp, every art piece, every event in here was described, placed and given away by someone else. They wrote the descriptions. They chose to be findable. Without them this is an empty grid on a dry lake.
Who told the city where they'd be, and what they were bringing.
Who hauled it out here, built it in the dust, and let it go.
Who spend all year welding so the rest of us can catch a ride.
All of it free. All of it gifted. None of it obliged.
Most of them you'll never meet, and the ones you do meet you'll meet on the worst day of your week.
For publishing an open API at all, and for approving the key that made a 2026 map possible instead of a 2025 souvenir. Particular thanks to Andrew Lowe, who answered within hours, twice.
Who proved years ago that an offline Black Rock City map should exist, and open-sourced the proof. Everyone building in this space is standing on that.
Twenty-one years of hand-curating a music guide nobody pays them for — reading every lineup, checking every set, and giving it away. The most complete record of what is actually playing on this playa, made by hand.
For verifying hundreds of sets one link at a time, and for the note that says it all: “every link was found and checked, not guessed.”
The map renderer, the fonts, the glyphs, the tooling. All given away.
Because “thanks to the camps” is easy to say and harder to mean. All 1,176 of them, by name.
